EO Okanagan

Chapter President

Derek Bannister

Born and raised in Saskatchewan, I began my career under the guidance of my father, working in farming with a focus on specialty crops and cereal grains. I later ventured into the retail sector, owning a men’s clothing outlet before relocating to Kelowna, BC.

My business journey evolved as I took the helm of NAPA Auto Parts, while simultaneously completing the prestigious Richard Ivey Executive Business Program. I then entered the Powersports industry through the acquisition of a Bombardier dealership in Vernon, BC, which I rebranded as Banner Recreation and Marine.

Along the way, I also briefly owned and operated three Husky Energy retail outlets. Today, my focus is on growing Banner Recreation and Marine, which has expanded to six locations, a RV Dealership, as well as other business opportunities.
